For Michael Vollmer, a cue is not a piece of equipment, but an instrument. Like a Stradivarius for the violinist, a cue must feel like a natural extension of the player. Balance, weight, feedback and material must harmonise perfectly so that every stroke is transferred precisely to the ball.
